Portobello America's Landmark Manufacturing Facility

Portobello America’s state-of-the-art factory in Baxter, Tennessee, marks a significant milestone for the Portobello Group as we deepen our commitment to serving our clients across North America. This new facility is more than a factory; it’s a symbol of innovation, design, and strategic growth that is poised to meet the needs of the American market with efficiency and quality.

Cesar Gomes, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors of Portobello Grupo, expressed the company’s vision at the grand opening: “We have built a factory here not for mass production, but for flexibility. To attain the market with the right service. Service is the key to everyone’s success… Ours and Yours!

Strategically located, our new Tennessee plant embodies our dedication to delivering exceptional variety in ceramic surfaces while also reducing delivery times and transportation costs. With advanced production capabilities, we ensure a broad array of product styles and flexibility to cater to all market segments, affirming our position as a comprehensive tile source.

Our 200 meter long ceramic roller kiln is the same length as two soccer pitches. This area is where the tiles are fired and it is never turned off. This kiln runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our three presses have a capacity of 6,500 tons each. 6,500 tons is ¼ of the weight of the Statue of Liberty , and 90 tons more than the A380, the largest and heaviest passenger aircraft in the world.

This is the largest spray dryer in North America. As with all the machinery and equipment you see today, our investment in the finest machinery means Portobello America is geared for large-scale production.

The warehouse has a massive footprint of 250,000-square-foot. Portobello America can store over 12 million square feet of inventory in our high density racking.
